The rugged Lexus SUV also received a new Black Line finish. The Lexus GX 460 is a very attractive SUV with a level of luxury that some of the best SUVs in the industry can afford.

Lexus has yet to announce a series of changes for the upcoming Lexus GX 460 2023. While they don’t fundamentally change the SUV’s overall formula, they do provide significant improvements that make the GX easier to use every day.

Most importantly, the interior technology of the Lexus GX 460 2023 has been significantly improved. The older GX used a very outdated infotainment system that was bulky, slow, and incompatible with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

The redesigned dashboard is now equipped with a 10.3-inch touchscreen, using Lexus’ latest multimedia technology and smartphone mirroring capabilities.

Speaking of phones, the entire cabin of the Lexus GX 460 2023 has six USB ports that can charge devices.

Navigation, parking assistance, and electrically adjustable mirrors are standard features of the Lexus GX 460, 2023, and are part of an already extensive driver assistance technology.

Like all Lexus cars in 2023, the Lexus GX 460 is equipped with the Lexus Safety System Plus series, which includes pre-collision braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, automatic headlights, and custom-controlled high speed.

The new Black Line equipment package complements the changes made for the 2023 model year and is similar to the equipment Lexus has provided for other vehicles. The Black Stripe kit here adds unique alloy wheels, black chrome slats, and new bumper décor.

Buyers can combine this bundle with a variety of different exterior colors, including the new Nori Green Pearl pictured above.

All other parts of the GX are the same as before. Power comes from a 4.6-liter V8 engine with 301 horsepower. And 329 lb-ft of torque, and a few different off-road technologies can help you get the GX. The beaten path.

When Did Lexus GX 460 Body Style Change

By the old definition of the term, the Lexus GX 460 2023 is still an SUV. The GX was replaced with a new model in 2010, and basically, nothing has changed except for minor updates from the 2020 model.

The SUV under test received several color and equipment updates, as well as more advanced technology.

If a machine has not been updated for more than a decade, it tends to do one of two things; the machine dies or develops at the point of sale as it ages. Lexus GX 460 2023

fall into the latter category. The second-generation GX 460 debuted in 2009, and only minor updates were made two years ago.

Lastly, the Lexus GX 460 2023 dashboard uses new technology to replace the outdated infotainment system that has been in use since Obama’s first term.

The old 8″ touchscreen is gone, replaced by a new 10.3″ unit, which sits higher up on the dashboard. Not only is the screen the biggest, but it can also be integrated with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa.

Other changes to the interior include a redesigned center console and six USB ports.

There are no changes under the hood, with the GX still sporting an old-fashioned 4.6-liter V8 engine that produces just 301 horsepower and 329 lb-ft of torque, via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

It’s not fast or efficient, but the powertrain is simple, smooth, and allows for decent off-road performance. The drivetrain also allows for a decent towing capacity of 6,500 pounds.

Lexus continues the Black Line Special Edition series on the GX, giving it 18-inch glossy black alloy wheels, unique bumper valence, black grille surrounds, and Garnet Red taillights. The Black Line Special Edition comes in the exclusive Starfire Pearl, Black Onyx, or Nori Green Pearl.

It is hoped that these models will take on the all-new GA-F platform and ditch the old-school V8 in favor of a hybridized turbocharged V6 engine. This latest update will keep the GX fresh enough for another two model years when its successor arrives.

2023 Lexus GX 460 Interior

Lexus gave the 2023 Lexus GX 460 its last full redesign in 2010, and this may be one reason for its somewhat outdated cabin appearance. The interior is home to wood and leather which looks very luxurious, but there is also some hard plastic that looks out of place in a vehicle in this price range.

Front row passengers enjoy pleasant accommodations and high seating positions, but the second-row seats turn out to be flat and hard, and the third row is a tight space best left for children.

To its credit, the 2023 Lexus GX 460 does a great job of keeping road noise out of the cab, and the interior remains quiet even when the vehicle is driven at high speeds. This Lexus provides 11.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row and 46.7 cubic feet behind the second row.

With the second and third rows folded, cargo space jumps to 64.7 cubic feet. This is less space than you’ll get in rival models like the Audi Q7 (14.2 cubic feet behind the third row, 35.7 cubic feet behind the second, and 69.6 cubic feet behind the first).

2023 Lexus GX 460 offers a variety of interesting technological facilities. The base model comes with a nine-speaker audio setup and an infotainment system governed by a 10.3-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Standard Bluetooth connectivity facilitates hands-free phone calls, and all models are equipped with SiriusXM satellite radio.

A selection of available technology features includes a dual-screen rear-seat entertainment system and integrated navigation. The list of options also includes a 17-speaker Mark Levinson sound system.

2023 Lexus GX 460 Engine

The Lexus GX 460 2023 is still equipped with an engine: a 4.6 liter V8 with 301 horsepower. And 329 pound-feet of torque. The power unit is connected to a six-speed all-wheel automatic transmission.

2023 Lexus GX 460

The Lexus Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System is the standard configuration, this setup is designed to increase the traction of off-road adventures. In our tests, the GX accelerated from zero to 100 km/h in 7.2 seconds.

However, we tested a competitor’s much faster model: the Audi Q7 with its V6 engine accelerated in 6.1 seconds, while the BMW X5 xDrive50i covered the same distance in less than 4.2 seconds.

The Lexus GX 460 2023 exhibits relatively smooth driving behavior on paved roads but is still an off-road element.

A solid base and 8.1-inch ground clearance make this SUV a great choice for buyers looking for outdoor comfort. Its 6,500-pound pull maintains its versatility.

2023 Lexus GX 460 MPG

The Lexus GX 460 won’t win any fuel-efficient awards in 2023. According to the US Environmental Protection Agency, this 4WD SUV can only be driven in 15/19 miles/gallon city/highway.

This puts it well behind competitive luxury SUVs like the Lincoln Aviator, which can produce 17/24 mpg when equipped with all-wheel drive. During our time with the GX, we found that the mileage in our 200-mile highway fuel-economy test was only 20 mpg, which is part of our comprehensive test plan. 2023 Lexus GX 460 Release Date

The Lexus GX 460 2022 release date starts at $56,500, where the goal is $1,075. The Black Line Special Edition hasn’t been rolled out to Lexus consumers yet, but we expect it to be available in the next few months.

While the Lexus GX 460 2023 isn’t priced at all, we suspect it’s too far from last year’s starting price of $54,450. Lexus will soon be releasing new versions of its GX and LX SUVs, which will be released sometime in 2024.
