2022 Lexus UX: The New Luxus UX Specs, Price and Release Date

The Lexus UX 2022 is an uncommon subcompact luxury crossover, but, despite its hatchback-like proportions, it’s also a classy and very sporty offering. Its small size and lower price tag place it below the Lexus NX as the company’s smallest crossover.

2022 Lexus UX Report

It will likely share many parts with the LS, including a twin-turbocharged 416-hp V6 and an optional 354-hp hybrid powertrain.

An interesting version is the F performance version, which will be powered by a new twin-turbocharged V8 with around 600 horsepower.

We also learned some news about another crossover in the Lexus lineup, the next generation NX. Lexus recently trademarked the name NX 450+, which will likely be used by the NX plug-in hybrid, the brand’s first PHEV.

2022 Lexus UX Interior

On the inside, Lexus ensures passengers know that this is a luxury vehicle thanks to an attractive layout and luxurious materials. It also offers many standard features which include dual-zone climate control and a power-adjustable front seat.

The experience can be enhanced with options such as heated and ventilated front seats, head-up displays, and cooler materials. Although the rear seats are far from spacious, they are not as narrow as one might expect.

Unfortunately, the cargo area behind the seats is quite small and even smaller on the hybrid model. We managed to fit four carry-on cases in there on the regular UX, but we were able to fit three additional carry-on luggage on the back of the BMW X1.

Each UX has an infotainment system preloaded with Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa compatibility, a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot, and four USB ports. The small Lexus can also be upgraded with a variety of options that include a larger 10.3-inch center screen, built-in navigation, wireless charging, and an eight-speaker premium audio system. While we appreciate this amount of content infotainment systems are often frustrating to operate with unintuitive touchpad controllers and other illogical controls.

2022 Lexus UX Engine

The Lexus UX is available with a gas-powered or hybrid powertrain paired with a continuously variable automatic (CVT) transmission. However, only the UX250h hybrid offers an all-wheel-drive; The regular UX200 is only for the front-drive.

The latter uses a 169-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The 2019 UX we tested took 8.5 seconds to get to 60 mph, and the engine sounded unrefined at high revs.

Whereas the 2019 UX250h hybrid version we tested produces 181 horsepower, the same acceleration doesn’t impress it. Thankfully, they both have great steering nuances and the quiet smoothness is captivating enough to help make up for the lack of speed.

The F Sport package features performance-oriented enhancements such as a sport-tuned suspension, 18-inch wheels in run-flat tires, and exclusive interior and exterior designations.

2022 Lexus UX MPG

The UX hybrid is better suited for saving fuel when driving around the city, with an EPA estimate of 41 mpg city and 38 mpg highway. The gas-only model has a rating of 29 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway.

We tested both versions on a highway fuel-efficient test route of 75 mph – part of our extensive testing regimen – to see how they perform in the real world. The UX200 delivers 35 mpg roadside while the UX250h only delivers 31 mpg, both lower than advertised.

2022 Lexus UX Price and Release Date

As for Lexus, the luxury brand is planning a 2022 facelift of the subcompact UX crossover for 2022, the 2022 anniversary design of the mid-size RX for 2022 to make it a “three lines that are better executed,” and a 2023 launch date for the full-size GX. new.
