2022 Lexus IS The Lexus LQ 2022 is rumored to be a gorgeous luxury crossover meant to recapture the magic that the company had with its original RX SUV over two decades ago. The progressive Lexus is special because it helps set new expectations for what a premium SUV will look like, and the LQ appears to be rebuilding that precedent with an even more luxurious experience.
While we can only speculate on the specifications, we thought the style would be bold and elegant, and we hope it will use a rear-drive platform. Along with the traditional petrol powertrain and mandatory all-wheel drive options, the upcoming crossover may also be available with hybrid technology. There’s still a lot to learn about LQ 2022, but here’s what we know so far.
The LQ will be all-new for 2022. It is expected to replace the outdated Lexus LX as the company’s flagship SUV. While the design looks inspired by the LC sports car, it is expected to share the platform and powertrains with the LS sedan.

Today, a massive leak has been revealed thanks to AllCarNews on Instagram revealing what Toyota and Lexus have planned until 2024. Some of the following have been rumored but there is at least one new vehicle that we don’t see coming.
First, the next-generation Toyota 86 and its younger brother, the Subaru BRZ. Both are expected to debut in July 2021 and the 86 will be renamed to GR86. Power will come from a new turbocharged engine with a reported 255 horsepower.
Of course, the rear-wheel-drive will remain. Furthermore, the Toyota Camry will also receive a mid-life refresh that year, followed by Avalon in 2022. The next-generation Camry won’t be due until 2024.
Also in 2021, we’ll see a new Corolla-based crossover whose name hasn’t been announced yet. One possibility is the Corolla Cross, which has the potential to start production at a joint factory with Toyota-Mazda in Alabama, which is still under construction.
As we previously reported, the Toyota Venza wagon-crossover will also return in 2021. In all likelihood, it will share a decent number of parts with the Camry, once again.
Moving on to trucks and SUVs, leaked reports suggest the new Toyota 4Runner and Sequoia will debut for the 2023 model year. Both will share TNGA-F Tundra’s next-generation architecture. Sequoia and Tundra will ditch the 5.7-liter V8 to support the new V6 twin-turbo hybrid. 4Runner will get this machine too.
The redesigned Toyota Tacoma will arrive in 2024, but there are no exact details yet.
As for the Toyota Land Cruiser, it looks set to come in 2022 but unlike the current model, it will be an off-roader without a hint of luxury. In other words, it’s back to basics. Sweet.
As for Lexus, unlike the Land Cruiser, its LX counterpart will take the opposite approach by becoming a rival to the Bentley Bentayga, powered by the same twin-turbo V6. In general, Lexus drops all V8 models for under $ 90,000. The new twin-turbo V8 will power the long-awaited LC-F in 2022.

The exterior styling will draw influence from the latest Lexus models. Taking a hint from the LS, we believe Lexus will slightly reduce the controversial “spindle” grille by fitting it to the front end with less protrusion.
The headlights will also be updated to a new style, with the DRL swoosh moved into the headlamp lens. The new rear will be enhanced with more prominent hips over a wider rear track to give the car a sportier feel.

The 2021 Lexus IS will not be an all-new model, and therefore will not be built on Toyota’s luxurious TNGA-L rear-drive architecture. Instead, it will continue to run with the existing New N platform introduced back in 2013. This doesn’t mean it will drive the same way.
